Bio:
Professor Sacha Mooney holds the chair in Soil Physics and is the Director of the Hounsfield Facility at the University of Nottingham. The Hounsfield Facility is a globally unique research centre that houses state of the art microscale X-ray Computed Tomography equipment dedicated to assess the interactions between plants, soils and microbes. He has a more than 25 years of experience in the imaging and modelling of plant and soil systems. His current research is focused around soil health and sustainable soil management. He currently sits on the NERC Peer Review College and Technologies Panel and on the editorial board for Soil Use & Management and Frontiers in Agronomy. He is currently funded by BBSRC, NERC, the British Council along with several industries including Syngenta and Unilever. He has published over 190 papers in international peer reviewed journals and is the outgoing President of the British Society of Soil Science.
