Abstract:
I will talk about the third-generation sequencing (single molecule sequencing) platform-based single-cell omics sequencing technologies, especially genome (SMOOTH-seq), epigenome (scNanoATAC-seq, scNanoHi-C), transcriptome (SCAN-seq) and multi-omics (scNanoCOOL-seq) sequencing technologies. These technologies will greatly facilitate the understanding of the ‘dark matter’ in different regulatory layers of our genomes.

Fuchou Tang is a full professor at BIOPIC, College of Life Sciences, Peking University. He is also Associate Director of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Genomics (ICG). His lab focuses on the epigenetic regulation of gene expression network during human early embryonic development, germline development and tumorigenesis. His lab pioneered the single cell sequencing field and has systematically developed a serial of single cell functional genomic sequencing technologies (the first single-cell DNA methylome sequencing technology (scRRBS, 2013), the first single-cell multi-omics sequencing technology (scTrio-seq, 2016), the first single-cell multi-epigenomics sequencing technology (scCOOL-seq, 2017), the first third-generation sequencing (TGS, single molecule sequencing) platform-based high-precision single cell RNA-seq technology (SCAN-seq, 2020; SCAN-seq2, 2023), the first TGS platform-based single cell genome sequencing technology (SMOOTH-seq, 2021; SMOOTH-seq2, 2023), the first TGS platform-based single cell ATAC-seq technology (scNanoATAC-seq, 2023), the first TGS platform-based single cell Hi-C sequencing technology (scNanoHi-C, 2023) and the first TGS platform-based single cell multi-omics sequencing technology (scNanoCOOL-seq, 2023)). His work has been cited for more than 20,000 times. He has been invited to give presentations at AGBT, ISSCR, ICHG, Gordon Conference, HCA. He is editorial board members of Cell Stem Cell, Cell Research, Protein & Cell, Genome Biology, Medical Review, Genomics Proteomics & Bioinformatics, Precision Clinical Medicine, Open Biology.
