Abstract:
Homo Sapiens is depleting our one-time fossil fuel endowment, leading to an overshoot of the planet's carrying capacity. This surge of fossil fuel energy has fueled economic growth, but at a significant cost to the environment. As we approach the decline phase of this carbon pulse, it becomes crucial to adopt a systems perspective and understand the interactions between monetary economics, finite resources, and a booming population.
