Abstract:
Desertification has posed a pressing threat to worldwide ecosystems, especially in agriculture. To solve this challenge, the Smart Irrigation Management in Beautiful Aridlands “SIMBA” platform has been established to optimize irrigation by integrating Long Range (LoRa) technology with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks. Also, a user-friendly dashboard has been developed for real-time visualization of the project, including front-end and back-end, to achieve device management, sensor monitoring, and control. It allows users to keep track of critical data metrics such as soil moisture, temperature, and other weather conditions. Besides, they can conveniently change the irrigation scheme based on present weather conditions or set some thresholds for the irrigation triggers.
