BIOPHYSICS & BIOIMAGING

BESE DIVISION RESEARCH AREA:
BIOPHYSICS & BIOIMAGING

Recent technological advances have dramatically empowered our ability to measure, visualize and model the cellular machinery down to the single molecule level. These advances profoundly increase our understanding of life’s functions and dysfunctions and open new avenues for biotechnology and biomedical applications.

The Biophysics and Bioimaging research area at KAUST encompasses the fields of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Microscopy & Spectroscopy and Structural Biology. Our research groups apply and develop cutting-edge techniques for characterizing and imaging cellular and molecular processes related to biological development, genetics, signaling and to the fabrication of novel biomaterials.
